Chickasaw Nation cultural center gets approval

FRIDAY, APRIL 18, 2003 The Chickasaw Nation Legislature voted 9-4 on Thursday to approve a $67 million cultural center. The center is slated to include museums, galleries, an amphitheater, archives and a library. It will be located on a 110-acre site. Funding will come in two phases. In the first, the tribe will issue $35 million in 25-year bonds, to be financed by tribal gaming revenue. The second phase will be funded by revenues expected from the cultural center. Get the Story:
