John Potter: A tribute to ordinary Joes

MONDAY, APRIL 21, 2003

"I knew Joseph Marshall III when he was just a disheartened leader of a ragtag bunch of hungry Indians, with nowhere to go until the director cut for lunchtime.

I knew Joseph Fire Crow when he was playin' the Shrine Auditorium and his flute could barely be heard over the din of the go-karts.

Now look at these guys. Their time has finally come, and I am SO happy for them

A couple of ordinary Joes, who have given of their extraordinary gifts to the People.

As for this ordinary guy, well, now it's MY time.

That is, my time to go out to the yard, 'cause my dogs have left some extraordinary gifts for ME.

Where's my Walkman...."
