Navajo Nation council starts another session

TUESDAY, APRIL 22, 2003 The 20th Navajo Nation council opened in Window Rock, Arizona, on Monday. Delegates passed a document expressing condolences for to the family, relatives and friends of the late U.S. Army soldier Lori Piestewa, the Hopi woman killed in action in Iraq. Her parents, Terry and Percy Piestewa, were present at the council, The Farmington Daily Times reported. Items on the council agenda include government reform and Peabody Coal mining. Rep. Rick Renzi (R-Ariz.), whose district includes part of the Navajo Nation, will address the council today. Get the Story:
