Navajo students learning language at earlier age

THURSDAY, APRIL 24, 2003 Navajo students at an elementary school in Farmington, New Mexico, impressed their older counterparts with their knowledge of the Navajo language. Second- through fourth-graders at Bluffview Elementary met with students from Navajo Prep for a bilingual language exchange. The grade-schoolers created short Navajo language books while the older students told fairy tales and cartoon superhero stories with a Navajo twist. Get the Story:
