The Smithsonian Institution's National Museum of Natural History denies bowing to political pressure over an exhibit featuring photos of the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge.

The Smithsonian changed captions on some photos in the exhibit because they "bordered on advocacy," a spokesperson said. The exhibit was also moved to a less high-profile location.

The changes came after photographer Subhankar Banerjee's work was promoted on the Senate floor by Democrats who are opposed to drilling in ANWR.
