Negotiations between Meskwaki leaders break down

Talks between the two factions of the Meskwaki Tribe of Iowa have broken down, the Associated Press reports.

The appointed council and the elected council were considering some form of power sharing agreement and new elections.

The sides are now waiting to see if the National Indian Gaming Commission will close the tribe's casino.
