Education's Paige visits Alaska village school

Secretary of Education Rod Paige visited the Alaska village of Tuntutuliak to learn more about challenges facing rural and Alaska Native schools.

Alaska educators are worried that the No Child Left Behind Act mandates changes that are difficult to meet in rural and Native communities. Paige said he was enlightened by the visit but has no plans to exempt Alaska or delay the required reforms.
