MONDAY, MAY 12, 2003 "Did Jesus ever visit the Americas? Nobody really knows for sure. There have been several books written on the subject and there remains an ongoing theological debate, but there is no clear evidence that He paid a visit to Turtle Island. Some folks claim there are legends in Native American tribes that speak of a “Pale Prophet” that once visited our homelands and taught his virtuous and righteous ways throughout the North and South American continents. These legends tell of a healer, a saintly white man who performed miracles. These stories say that this prophet was known by many names. Tribes separated by hundreds, even thousands of miles, with little or no knowledge of one another, had similar legends of a light-eyed, toga-wearing savior. But I’ve never met a tribal elder who knew of these stories, much less talked about them." Get the Story:
