A decision to allow the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation of Connecticut greater control of water resources has been temporarily rescinded, The New London Day reports.

Local officials oppose the expansion of the tribe's authority. They claim their rights were violated. They also say the tribe will be able to acquire more land and have it placed into trust.
