The Minnesota House will take up a bill to allow additional radioactive waste storage at a nuclear plant near the Prairie Island Indian Community.

The bill includes a financial settlement with the Prairie Island Mdewakanton Dakota Tribe. The tribe opposes more storage but has agreed to a $1 million annual payment as long as the plant is in operation.
