This year will be the final year for the April Dawn Stamper Memorial Women's Open Tournament on the Rocky Boy's Reservation in Montana.

The tourney was started four years ago by friends of April Dawn Stamper, who excelled in athletics and academics. Diagnosed with schizophrenia, she killed herself on May 22, 1999. She was 22.

Wilma Windy Boy, Stamper's mother, will attend this weekend's event, the first time she has done so. She asked the tournament organizers to make this year the last.
