Claims of police brutality against an American Indian man should be investigated, The Sioux Falls Argus Leader says in an editorial.

Yankton Sioux tribal members say a local police officer has history of racism and attacked a Native man who was being arrested. But the police chief says the claims are unwarranted.

The paper says the police department has to investigate the incident. "It's what any chief interested in truth and justice would do," the paper says.
