"I wouldn't want my daughter or granddaughter to take a combat role. Nor would I want my son and grandsons in combat. But then, I wouldn't want them to be race car drivers or mountain climbers either. Those jobs are too risky and worrisome for me.

Killing in wartime is awful and should only be defensive and when there is no other option. But men will go to war. Women are capable and able to fight alongside men. These young women in the news proved that, and so should be given the opportunity if they want that role."
