The Great Lakes Indian Fish and Wildlife Commission implanted computer chips in lake trout as part of a study to better understand fish movements.

The commission, representing 11 Ojibwe tribes in Michigan, Minnesota and Wisconsin, used a $55,000 grant from the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. The tribes implanted 124 computers that capture information about the temperature and water conditions.
