Gaming an issue in Mohawk tribal election

The St. Regis Mohawk Tribe of New York will hold an election on Saturday.

The leaders who agreed to an off-reservation casino and to a land and gaming settlement with the state are up for re-election. According to Jim Ransom, a candidate, gaming is an issue and some tribal members are opposed to the deal.
