A California superior court jury on Thursday found Marlon Taylor, 20, not guilty for murdering Shane Zotigh, 20, a member of the Kiowa Tribe of Oklahoma.

Zotigh was shot to death August 7, 2002 after an incident with Taylor, who was convicted of a lesser charge of assaulting an eyewitness to the crime.

Zotigh's family members were visibly distraught when the verdict was read, The Long Beach Press-Telegram reported. "There's no justice," Zotigh's uncle said.

Zotigh was a pow-wow dancer who competed on the circuit.
