The Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation of Connecticut welcomed a new addition to its child development center.

Call Toonuppasog, the cultural classroom is built in the shape of a turtle. Currently, 121 children attend the center, which offers afterschool and summer school programs.

Toonuppasog, which means "turtle in muddy waters," was the dream of Juanita Reels, a tribal elder who survived cancer.
