California Senator Jim Battin (R) is asking gaming tribes to hire his public relations and media company, The Los Angeles Times reports.

Battin, who received $140,000 in campaign donations from tribes last year, sits on the committee that oversees gaming issues. He says he isn't breaking any laws by soliciting tribal business.

In a pitch to tribes, Battin says his company can help tribes boost their image and fight off political attacks.
