N.M. festival showcases Native film makers

MONDAY, JUNE 30, 2003 The Na'al Kid Summer Film Festival was held at San Juan College in New Mexico over the weekend. Two young Native filmmakers showed their works at the event. Angelo Baca, 23, a member of the Navajo Nation, debuted "Running With Tradition," a short movie about Native runners. Larry Blackhorse Lowe, also Navajo, showed "Cold Feet" and "Happy Boy," about arranged marriages. Jonathan Sims debuted his work called "Hip Hop Nation," about hip-hop on reservations. Get the Story:
