A Navajo political action group is trying to increase Navajo representation on a county board in Arizona.

Currently, the Apache County board has three members. The "3-to-5 Committee" wants to force a November election that would create five seats, a move that would double the number of Navajos on the board.

If the drive is successful, the county would be the largest Indian-controlled county government in the state, according to The Gallup Independent.
