N.C. tribe raising funds for first land buy

MONDAY, JULY 7, 2003 The Occaneechi Band of the Saponi Nation is holding a golf tournament to raise funds to buy land. The tribe wants land for a tribal offices, a museum and pow-wow grounds. The tribe was recognized by the state's appeals court last February. Get the Story:
