The Navajo Nation lost $2.7 million on its exhibition at the 2002 Winter Olympics, a much larger loss than previously disclosed, The Farmington Daily Times reports.

An audit of the Discover Navajo Pavilion said that the tribe expected to make $600,000, after $4.6 million in donations, sponsorships and other revenues. Due to post-September 11 conditions, the report said the tribe spent $3.7 million on the effort, offset by $1 million in revenues.
