The House voted 210-210 on Thursday to preserve funding for sexual research projects.

Rep. Pat Toomey (R-Penn.) tried to cut $1.4 million in National Institutes of Health grants. He said the projects were not worthy of taxpayer money.

One of the projects he cited is a $500,00 study by the University of Washington in Seattle of American Indian and Alaskan Native lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgendered and two-spirits.
