Joseph Fire Crow, nominated for a GRAMMY in the first Native American music category, says he moved to Connecticut after finding love at Schemitzun, the annual powwow of the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation.

Fire Crow moved to Winsted after meeting Joann Moore at the powwow. Moore now serves as his manager and the pair will travel to the GRAMMYs next month.

Fire Crow's release Cheyenne Nation features flute and other traditional instrumentation. Fire Crow was raised on the Northern Cheyenne Reservation in Montana.
