Native musicians headed to inaugural

JANUARY 18, 2001

Rock group Clan/destine and Casper Loma-Da-Wa's reggae band are two of the four Native music groups headed for the American Indian Inaugural Ball in Washington, DC, this weekend.

But Loma-Da-Wa has received negative comments about his scheduled performance. Some say he is selling out to Republicans but he said he wanted to perform no matter who was elected President.

Clan/destine on the other hand says they have received positive support for their upcoming appearance.

Pop singer Jana and GRAMMY-nominated Oneida singer Joanne Shenandoah are also set to perform.
