DECEMBER 21, 2000

The Screen Actors Guild today says the number of roles for Native American actors in television shows and movies showed no increase from 1998 to 1999.

Roles for African-American and Hispanic workers, on the other hand, showed an increase. Of all minority groups, Asian Americans and Native Americans have the lowest representation in media, with 2.2 percent and 0.2 percent of roles, respectively.
