AUGUST 24, 2000 The governing council of Indian Art Northwest fired director Gail Chehak on Monday, alleging mismanagement of the Pacific Northwest's only major art market. Chehak, one of the market's founders, said she was surprised by the action. She said it was motiviated by political concerns instead of financial mismanagement.
