Neighbors happy for end of Mohegan concerts

THURSDAY, AUGUST 30, 2001 Neighbors of the outdoor ampitheatre owned by the Mohegan Tribe of Connecticut will be able to rest free after tonight. The Uncas Pavillion will host its final show (a blues festival featuring B.B. King, by the way) and neighbors who have complained about noise can't be more excited. After tonight, the 5,000-seat pavillion is being taken down because the tribe is building a new 10,000-seat indoor arena. Concerts began last summer. But the one which seemed to annoy residents the most was a six-hour glam metal music marathon featuring Poison and other men in makeup. Get the Story:
