MONDAY, APRIL 1, 2002 The New York Times reviews "The Fast Runner (Atanarjuat)," calling the all-Inuit film "a masterpiece." "It is, by any standard, an extraordinary film, a work of narrative sweep and visual beauty that honors the history of the art form even as it extends its perspective," writes reviewer A. O. Scott. The film, directed by Zacharias Kunuk, features an all-Inuit cast. It has received numerous awards in Canada and abroad. Festivals are showing the film in select locations. A U.S. premier is set for June 7. Get the Story:
