'Redskins' might get scrapped

OCTOBER 16, 2000 Along with other educational institutions in Brown County, Kansas, the Redskins mascot of the Hiawatha High School might be removed now that a committee has been appointed to look into the issue. The Hiawatha Unified School District 415 will study the use of Indians as mascots at high schools, middle schools, and grade schools. Get the Story:
