Research published in Science describes the discovery of a 40-foot long, 18,000-pound dinosaur-eating crocodile that inhabited central Africa some 110 million years ago.

Bones of the crocodile were found back in 1964. But since an intact skull wasn't uncovered until recently, scientists weren't able to understand Sarcosuchus' full size.

Sarcosuchus roamed rivers in what is now the Saharan desert. The new bones were found in the Tenere Desert of Niger.
