Twelve tribes in the Southwest have reburied 187 sets of human remains in a secret location in Colorado, the work of consultation with the Colorado Historical Society.

The remains were uncovered at various locations but identification with a specific tribe or tribes was next to impossible. The tribes agreed to have the Ute Mountain Ute Tribe and the Southern Ute Tribe handle the reburial.
