Decision on Sioux nickname delayed

DECEMBER 13, 2000

Responding to requests by students, University of North Dakota President Charles Kupchella will postpone a decision on the school's nickname until January.

Students had feared he would make a decision while they were away on holiday. They told him they wanted to be on campus when he made the decision.
