The remains of 241 Native Americans belonging to various members of the Iroquois Confederacy are being repatriated by the Rochester Museum and Science Center in New York.

The remains are being returned to the Onondaga, Cayuga, Mohawk and Seneca Nations. The museum had been pressed for 10 years to return the remains by various tribal members.

Many of the remains were dug up from graves from 1920 to 1950. Accompanying them on their return home will be more than 8,800 artifacts.
