JANUARY 26, 2001

Tex Hall, Chairman of the Three Affiliated Tribes on the Fort Berthold Reservation in North Dakota, on Thursday testified in favor of a bill to create a human rights commission and offered his tribes' support in funding it.

Hall said he would pay for half of it and seek support from other tribes in the state to contribute to that amount. Others testified in support of the commission, which is the subject of a new bill.

A similar proposal failed last year.
