MAY 15, 2001 A group of Inupiat Eskimos from Unalakleet last week pored through a warehouse in Maryland, identifying objects that are part of the Smithsonian collection. Some may be repatriated back to them, depending on the type of object. The group is one of several the Smithsonian hopes to bring to examine artifacts. A $500,000 program funded largely by the Rasmuson Foundation and Phillips Alaska is paying for the trips. Get the Story:
