Wash. Indian students more likely to drop out

MAY 24, 2001 The Washington state Higher Education Coordinating Board on Wednesday released a report which shows that American Indian students are more likely to drop out of high school and less likely to earn college degrees than white and Asian students. American Indian and other minority students experience drop out rates between 27 percent and 36 percent, according to the report. Only 17 percent of Native American students go on to four-year colleges. Get the Story:
