Fifth- and sixth-graders in the gifted program at Isleta Elementary School in Isleta Pueblo are working with Pueblo elders to document how the railroad affected the community.

The students are have been doing research and interviewing elders about the railroad. Today, 13 students and 13 elders will ride a train from Gallup to Albuquerque on the railroad, which cuts the Pueblo in half.
