MAY 7, 2001

Fulfilling a promise he made with tribal elders at the onset of his career, an anthropologist has donated his life's work on the Ute Tribe to the Southern Ute Indian Cultural Center and Museum.

James Goss' work on the tribe's history, language, and culture includes clothing, beadwork, maps, photographs, and papers. Tribal members say it will be helpful for youth.
