JUNE 7, 2000 This week, archaeologists will survey the Bear Paw Battlefield site where Chief Joseph and a band of Nez Perce surrendered on October 5, 1877 after attempting to flee to Canada. Instead of digging, the archaeologists will perform an artifact inventory. The Public is invited to hear about the survey at a Barbeque at 6PM on Thursday at the Battlesite. Get the Story:
