Ariz. city negotiating remains deal

WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 8, 2001 The Tempe city council tomorrow will vote on an agreement to work with area Arizona tribes on the protection of human remains and other artifacts. The city will consult with tribes on remains and artifacts found on city land. Seven tribes have historical and cultural connections to various sites in Tempe. The Fort McDowell Tribe will be consulted in Apache remains and items. The Salt River Pima Tribe and the Gila River Indian Community will handle issues for other tribes. Get the Story:
