MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 10, 2001 The University of Nebraska at Lincoln next month will dedicate a memorial for the remains of tribal ancestors whose bones were incinerated by the school in the 1960s. The school doesn't know where the ashed ended up. They might be in a landfill or buried around the incinerator where they were burned. A specially-trained dog has been commissioned to try and search for remains. The memorial is being erected per an agreement the school signed with 16 tribes in the Plains and the Midwest.
