SEPTEMBER 12, 2000 A 500-year old Inca sacred stone known as Intihuatana was damaged last Friday when a 1,000-foot crane being used in a beer commercial fell on it. Intihuatana, or "hitching post for the sun," is located in Macchu Picchu, an ancient Incan city located about 300 miles southeast of Lima, Peru. Part of if was chipped off during the filming, leading archaeologists, politicians, and others to express shock at the incident. Get the Story:
