Man sentenced for selling artifacts

TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 20, 2001 A man who admitting selling Indian artifacts from a museum where he was employed because he needed the money has been sentenced for the crime. David Wooley, 53, was sentenced to 15 years in jail and 30 years of probation by a Wisconsin state judge. He stole, among other items, a war club, a beaded buckskin bag and jewelry dating back 150 to 200 years old. Wooley was a curator at the Wisconsin Historical Society. Get the Story:
