N.Y. Indian mascots in dispute

WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 28, 2001 New York State Education Commissioner Richard Mills is calling on school districts to get rid of their Indian mascots, symbols and logos. That has upset school board members in the Liberty district who say Mills doesn't have a right to issue the edict. Of 110 school districts, some have changed their names but others have not.
