Potawatomi Tribe donates to schools

TUESDAY, DECEMBER 18, 2001 The Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation of Kansas has decided to donate $50,000 to support Indian students at schools in Topeka. The money will cover transportation and activity costs for the school district's Indian Education program. Chairman Gary Mitchell said there are more than 160 tribal members in the district.
