Research published in today's issue of Nature suggests human ancestors roamed with dinosaurs more than 80 million years ago.

Using a statistical model based on the number of today's primates and the number of recorded ancestors, researchers from Chicago's Field Museum calculated when the first primate might have appeared. The oldest fossil primate is 55 million years old, so they said an ancestor would be 80 to 85 million years old.

Dinosaurs went extinct 65 million years ago.
