The Alaska Supreme Court last week refused to reconsider its decision to uphold a jury award to six Yup'ik women.

The women had been involved in an accident that caused them back and neck pain. As a result, they were limited in their ability to perform traditional subsistence activities, so they sued the driver who rammed into their pickup truck in Bethel.

The court in September had upheld the ruling and last week turned down a request by the driver to rehear it.
