OCTOBER 30, 2000

Dam breaching continues to be a sensitive issue, as politicians in Washington state use it as a campaign issue.

The city of Seattle, in the western part of the state, wrote a resolution calling for the removal of the dams on the Snake River, in the eastern part. Politicians from the eastern part are now accusing their western opponents of supporting the proposal, even if they don't agree with it.
