Oklahoma tribes investigate water

DECEMBER 6, 2000 The Wyandotte and Quapaw Tribes of Oklahoma are investigating contaminated water supplies in two rivers and have discovered raw sewage being dumped into the water. The tribes have tested the water and noted high levels of E. coli, chloroform and strep bacteria. They have been reporting the contamination to the state Environmental Quality Department, who confirmed that one company has been dumping sewage on private land. But the company, Sayers Septic Service, said they have permission to dump on the land. Get the Story:
